Curriculum Innovation Process
The Curriculum Innovation Process (CIP) is a series of annual data-informed conversations with Academic Units on their:
- Teaching quality
- Program and course design and efficiency
- Student engagement, satisfaction and graduate outcomes
- Teaching-research alignment
- Academic workforce
- Teaching facilities.
The CIP is a key response to the challenges laid out in Enterprise25, UniSA's Strategic Action Plan 2018-2025 and seeks to:
- Take a whole of enterprise view of disciplines that underpin our curriculum including alignment with our research strengths, the quality of our facilities, and future workforce needs
- Improve student satisfaction, student retention, and graduate employment (assessed on statistics) particularly in our key discipline areas
- Enhance teaching quality through supporting and developing our academic workforce
- Ensure that adequate resources are available to sustain unique programs in areas of future workforce need and those that are of strategic value to the institution and the community
- Enhance awareness of key discipline areas to improve demand for our programs
- Improve the quality and consistency of blended delivery to enhance the flexibility of our curriculum for local, regional, and international students.
Each year, a series of actions and strategic priorities are identified through the CIP for academic and central units to lead, and these are incorporated in local area and enterprise support plans. A number of major university-wide strategic projects have also emanated from the CIP.
