UniSA has been ranked number one in South Australia in three major subject areas, in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2020 by subject.
In rankings released earlier this month, THE placed UniSA number one in South Australia for Education; Law; and Business and Economics.
UniSA was ranked 74th in the world for Education; and placed in the top 100 in the world for Law.
UniSA was also ranked in the top 10 Australian universities for Business and Economics.
Pro Vice Chancellor for Education, Arts and Social Sciences Professor Joanne Cys says UniSA produces graduates ready to step into the classroom – whether as an early childhood, primary or secondary teacher.
“Our education degrees are industry-relevant and from day one prepare graduates for the practical nature of their role as an educator,” Prof Cys says.
“The latest results from THE are more evidence of the success of our approach, one that aims to give graduates a competitive edge, ensuring they are skilled, experienced in a range of teaching settings, confident and ready for rewarding and successful careers in teaching.”
Pro Vice Chancellor for Business and Law Professor Marie Wilson says being number one in the State for Law, Business and Economics is the result of many years of hard work.
“It’s pleasing recognition of the world class research and industry engagement that underpin our preparation of students for future careers – no matter where in the world our graduates want to succeed and excel,” Prof Wilson says.
“Our strong connections to industry keep our programs relevant, recognised and respected – we have always been closely tied to industry with a highly developed industry mentorship program and exciting placement opportunities in leading companies both in Australia and in the Asia-Pacific region.
“As a 5-star Business School ranked in the top 1 per cent worldwide, we ensure our students are prepared for successful, global professional careers while also supporting innovation and business growth to create the economic and career opportunities of the future.
“Our law degree takes students beyond the theory of law, providing experiential opportunities, smaller class sizes, and moot court facilities.”
