Students learn on the field

UniSA students are giving back to the South Australian sports community through the Personal Study Plan: Health and Physical Education course.

Students Jacob Sloane, Lauren Steed and Cat Wojcik (pictured below at a swimming carnival) are just some of the UniSA students volunteering at School Sport SA this year to help deliver events for more than 20 sports across all age groups.

UniSA tutor Mary Crouch says the course provides organisations like School Sport SA with much-needed volunteers while at the same time giving students a valuable learning opportunity.

“The students learn a lot by working alongside Sports SA officials and the many teachers involved in these large-scale events,” she says.

“We’ve also received some great feedback from School Sports SA who have commented on the outstanding calibre of our students.”

The Personal Study Plan course is specifically designed for undergraduate students on the pathway into the Master of Teaching (Secondary: Health and Physical Education specialisation) at UniSA.
