Rural Health Research

A research plan has been developed by University of South Australia Department of Rural Health academic staff who are based at the Rural Health and Aged Care Education Centre.  Research projects underway include:

  • Student experience and graduate intentions following aged care placement at Matthew Flinders Home
  • The effectiveness of a fishing program on aged care resident mobility and health status
  • The use of an online software program in evaluation of pain levels in residents with dementia/communication disorders
  • An examination of the effectiveness of a weekly interprofessional education program on staff and student understanding in aged care

Additionally, the University of South Australia is working collaboratively with other RHMT Aged Care Expansion Grantees on a national survey.
