Digital transformation, agile and customer-centric practices, sustainability and social good, and reimagined service models. These are just some of the challenges facing Australian companies and businesses looking to thrive in a competitive landscape. As people and technology adapt, and there is continued disruption and change, the professional and commercial services sector needs to remain agile in order to deliver more effective policies and services.

  • Developing a risk audit tool that allows organisations to proactively manage risk and improve the psychosocial work environment
  • Exploring corporate strategies for sustaining competitive advantage
  • Developing policy approaches to improve financial inclusion and financial literacy
  • Examining the effect of branding, positive promotion and media coverage on the uptake of COVID-19 vaccines
  • Exploring the economic impact of major manufacturing plant closures in regional Australian areas
  • Investigating the concept of job crafting and its effect on workers’ psychosocial wellbeing.

With expert researchers and state-of-the-art facilities, we have the capabilities to work with partners on transformational change across business operations, policy and regulatory challenges, and opportunities for modernisation.

My research focuses on buyer behaviour and brand performance, scientific laws in marketing, marketing-based assets and advertising and media. I work with global organisations such as Coca-Cola, Mars, Procter and Gamble and Unilever through the Ehrenberg-Bass Institute’s Corporate Sponsorship Program to provide insights for effective marketing and brand management.

My research navigates the complexities surrounding arts and cultural work, investigating creative micro-enterprise; social inclusion, diversity and creative employment; and the importance of location and strong creative ecosystems to grow cultural and creative industries. In collaboration with Guildhouse, my team has examined the impact of mentorship on creative careers and determined the key features of a successful mentorship program for mentors and mentees. This research has informed enhancements to Guildhouse’s current Catapult mentorship program.

My research is focused on entrepreneurial ecosystems, which is the intersection of entrepreneurship, innovation and socioeconomic development. As part of UniSA’s C-EDGE research centre, I work with a range of partners to support their entrepreneurial ventures and the resulting impact on industries, markets and communities. Together we find new ways to innovate, create and respond to change across local and global economies.
