Venture into outer space these school holidays with a Planetarium experience. Enjoy a tour of the cosmos guided by one of the Planetarium’s experienced astronomers and watch the mysteries of our Solar System unravel on the dome-shaped ceiling.

Our school holiday sessions will take you on a captivating journey across the Universe. Join one of our highly experienced astronomers as they guide you through constellations, the Solar System and beyond. Marvel at the immense scale of the universe and observe the breathtaking beauty of the night skies projected on the eight-metre domed ceiling.  The sessions feature a fulldome movie, of which there are seven to choose from.  Family fun to suit all ages!

A starfield with a baby's face

90min - Twinkle Twinkle Massive Star

We see the stars in our night sky as tiny twinkling dots, but how big are they compared to our Sun? What would happen to our Solar System if we swapped our Sun for any of these stars?  Would our Earth still be habitable if we had a different sun?  Find out in this fun and informative session.

A black hole bending light around it

90min - Black Holes: Bending Space and Time

Black holes are the strangest objects in the universe.  What exactly is a black hole?  How big are they and how big can they get?  There's only one way to find out...

Equipment pointing towards a red-tinted night sky

90min - Capturing the Cosmos: A Kaleidoscope of Colour, so much more than the eye can see

We are almost blind to the universe around us, as we humans can only see 0.003% of the electomagnetic spectrum.  This session takes you on a journey that reveals what's hidden to our eyes.  See the Universe as you've never seen it before, through the cosmic coloured glasses that are orbiting the Earth.
