1 SLIDE. 3 MINUTES. BIG IDEAS.

Imagine a typical PhD thesis - 80,000 words long and taking over nine hours to read.

University of South Australia's PhD candidates are rising to the challenge - presenting their research using just one slide and in three minutes - to showcase ideas with the potential for a lifetime of impact.

The Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition highlights bold, creative research from some of UniSA’s brightest minds. This year’s finalists are rethinking how we learn, work, and live - exploring ways to support hybrid workplaces, enhance accessibility for students with dyslexia, and build capability in teaching and learning.

From tackling health issues like asthma and supporting children’s physical and social wellbeing to advancing space imaging technology, these researchers are addressing both the everyday and the extraordinary.

The Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition is a global celebration of research, held in over 900 universities across 85+ countries. Join us in-person or stream online to explore the finalists' innovative ideas and vote for the People’s Choice winner.

UniSA's finalists and their presentation titles are listed below.

The 2025 UniSA 3MT Grand Final is presented by The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre and the Office for the Dean of Graduate Studies, supported by UniSA Academic Units.
