Professor John Blaxland, an international security and intelligence services expert from the Australian National University, and Clare Birgin, a former Australian diplomat, will be in conversation with Professor Marnie Hughes-Warrington AO, Deputy Vice Chancellor: Research and Enterprise at UniSA. The discussion will revolve around their book, Revealing Secrets: An Unofficial History of Australian Signals Intelligence & the Advent of Cyber, a compelling account of Australian Signals intelligence, its efforts at revealing the secrets of other nations, and keeping ours safe. Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) is an international competition celebrating the research undertaken by PhD candidates. Competing for a chance to win $3000, and to represent the University of South Australia in the 2023 Asia-Pacific 3MT Competition, our finalists will present their research using non-technical language, with just one slide, in just three minutes. The aspiring PhD candidates will engage the audience with their research, with a representative nominated from each UniSA Academic Unit. The 2023 UniSA 3MT Grand Final is presented by The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre and the Office for the Dean of Graduate Studies, supported by participating UniSA Academic Units.

On the occasion of its 50th anniversary, this exhibition celebrates the history and achievements of JamFactory’s Associate Program through the work of 50 of its most outstanding alumni.

Deaf Gain is a celebration of the local and national Deaf community. This exhibition serves as a powerful platform for deaf artists to showcase their talent and share stories from the deaf community. The artists bring a fresh and innovative approach to contemporary visual arts, as well as using art as a medium to showcase pride in their own unique experiences of deafness. Curated by William Maggs, Deaf Gain creates a Deaf-centric space that empowers a diverse range of cutting-edge artists. Presented by The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre in the Kerry Packer Civic Gallery, Deaf Gain coincides with the National Week of Deaf People (18 – 24 September) and is supported by The Deaf Butterfly Effect.
