Toni Vorenas was a passionate English teacher and educational leader for 30 years.
With a post graduate degree in special education and a graduate certificate in neuroscience and learning, Toni led curriculum and learning projects across the state.
She also co-wrote a drama play with her brother, exploring the experiences of migration.
In 2009, Toni reluctantly left her classroom to help her husband realise his dream of owning a café. Metro Bakery & Café began as a small takeaway coffee and sandwich shop with two staff.
It has evolved into a three-site operation with over 30 staff.
Toni credits the success of her business to the diversity of her team and to building a culture of uncompromising respect. She is an avid community supporter and a member of several local Mount Gambier Boards and State Reference Groups.
Toni leads from the heart and believes that an investment in people is the true bottom line of any business and indeed any organisation.
