Dr Jennifer Fereday is the Executive Director Nursing and Midwifery Women’s and Children’s Health Network (WCHN). She has held senior nursing positions in the areas of clinical, management, education and research in both the public and private sectors. Her academic qualifications include a Diploma of Applied Science (Nursing) Bachelor of Nursing, Midwifery Certificate, Master of Educational Management and Doctor of Philosophy.
Dr Fereday holds the position of Adjunct Associate Professor with the University of South Australia and is a member of the Nursing and Midwifery External Advisory Committees. She participates in Grant Review Panels, assesses research proposals and theses and supervisors higher degree students.
Dr Fereday is the professional lead for all nurses and midwives across the acute and community divisions of WCHN. She actively leads, and contributes to, policy development and professional issues for nursing and midwifery at a Network, State and National level and currently serves on the Board of Novita.
Her philosophy is to foster a culture of excellence in nursing and midwifery practice grounded in research evidence, critical inquiry, teamwork, innovation and person and family centred care whilst adhering to the core values of the SA Public Sector and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia’s professional standards and codes of practice.
