Mr McShane’s early work background was in education in numerous regional locations. He moved into manufacturing at Kimberly-Clark Australia in Millicent before going on to the Local Government sector in 1990 in a Human Resource Manager role and then as Director, Corporate Services in the newly amalgamated Port Adelaide Enfield Council from 1996.
In mid 1999 Mark relocated to Beijing as Chief Executive Officer in a large Human Resource consulting firm, providing services to multinational companies across China. Three years later he relocated to Sydney as a Human Resource Consultant with a primary focus on Local Government. He spent four years consulting to Local Government in NSW, Queensland and Victoria.
In 2006 he relocated back to Adelaide as Director Corporate Services Port Adelaide Enfield Council where he spent six years prior to taking up his current role as Chief Executive Officer at Mount Gambier Council.
