The University of South Australia is home to a range of modern facilities, including technical and digital workshops, ceramics, glass, sculpture, printmaking, metalwork, photography, and design studios and workshops. Our award-winning and purpose-built art, architecture, planning and design facilities are located at City West campus in the heart of Adelaide's west end.
There’s no mistaking the purpose of the Dorrit Black Building. Home to technical workshops, the building houses ceramic kilns, glass blowing equipment, printmaking and jewellery apparatus, state-of-the-art photography darkrooms, textile, painting and drawing studios, and all the machinery required to make furniture, models, or work with metal.
The Dorrit Black Building received a New Building Commendation at the Australian Institute of Architects (SA Chapter) Architecture Awards.
UniSA's Kaurna Building is home to purpose-built architecture and design studios and the professional and academic staff in those disciplines. It hosts the SASA Gallery and Australia’s only dedicated Architecture Museum.
