Exploring the health of young Australian athletes and supporters’ perspectives of young athlete health
The aims of this project are to investigate the diet, physical and mental health of young Australian athletes and understand supporters' knowledge and views of nutrition, health and performance of young athletes.
Participants will complete an online survey which, depending on their role (e.g., athlete or support person), will ask questions about demographics, diet, physical and mental health. The time commitment for this survey is approximately 15-25 min. Participants do not need to complete the survey all at once.
Athletes must be aged 13-24 years (any gender), play an organised sport (any sport and level of competition), and live in Australia.
Support persons must be aged 18+ years (any gender), care for or work with young athletes aged 13-24 years, and live in Australia.
Athletes can choose to receive their personal dietary analysis, and if their survey is filled out completely (including the dietary recall), they can enter a draw to win one of 20 x $50 vouchers.
Support persons will automatically receive their REDs knowledge results.
All participants can choose to receive their nutrition knowledge scores (this section of the survey is optional).
