About the study

The University of South Australia is conducting research about Australia’s media classification system and the role of media ratings (G, PG, M, MA15+) in informing parental decisions about children’s media use.

Eligibility requirements

Parents or guardians who live in Australia with children aged 1-15 years who watch media content on television, in cinemas, on computers or phones, or who play video games on any device.

Requirements and benefits

Participants will complete an online survey. Completion takes approximately 25 minutes and includes an interactive dimension that asks participants to rate media content.

There are no immediate benefits to participants, but the insights obtained from this study will help inform policymakers about the usefulness and effectiveness of the classification system for contemporary families in Australia.
