About the study

We are looking for kids with cancer (aged 5-17 years), their parents, or adult members of their support network, to help design a reading program to support emotional wellbeing.

Reading stories can help kids feel happier and less worried. We want to create a reading program for kids with cancer because there isn’t much research on this in Australia. That's why we're going to talk to kids with cancer, their families, and other people who help them to find the best way to use books and stories to help kids feel better. You are invited to help make this program.

We’re inviting you to join a workshop where you can share your ideas about what would make a good reading program. Your thoughts will help us make a program that can help other kids too.

  • First workshop: You’ll talk to us about how reading can help kids feel better.
  • Second workshop: After we design the program, we’ll ask you what you think of it.

If you want to join in, you can join in one of the workshops or both. Each workshop will be about one hour long and can be done online or in person, whichever is easier for you.
