About the study

Our research team at University of South Australia (Associate Professor Debbie Faulkner, Dr Helen Barrie, Dr Kathryn Seymour and Ms Susie Duggin) is conducting a study to explore the level of trust older people and carers have in the aged care system to help uncover ways to assist in improving the experiences of older people within the aged care system.

Participation involves completing an online survey. There are three surveys for each of the relevant groups for the research – an Older Person’s survey, a survey for Carers and a survey for Aged Care Providers.

Following the survey, participants will have the option to indicate whether they are interested in participating in a follow-up focus group interview. If they express interest, we will ask for their contact information to schedule the interview. Only a subset of participants will be selected for interviews. Participants can also request a paper version of the survey to be sent.

Benefits

The study may not benefit participants directly, but they will be providing valuable contributions to our understanding of the level of trust in Aged Care in South Australia and this can contribute to policy and practice change.

Participation in the study is voluntary and all information provided will remain confidential.

Upon completion of the survey, older persons and informal carers will be invited to enter the draw for a chance to win one of 25 $20 gift vouchers.
