The Higher Education Research Network (HERN) aims to showcase Higher Education research as a discipline of excellence, both nationally and internationally. We are dedicated to creating a vibrant, visible, and impactful research community that positions UniSA at the forefront of higher education innovation and scholarship.
We bring together higher education researchers at the University of South Australia from diverse disciplines to build strong local networks and advance high-quality research within the university and beyond. Our work encompasses partnerships with national and international stakeholders and collaborators, enabling members to expand their impact and engage with global thought leaders.
We actively support Early Career Researchers (ECRs) and Higher Degree by Research (HDR) candidates through mentorship programs, research supervision, and tailored guidance. Additionally, we provide expert advice on higher education practices and policies to relevant bodies, helping to shape the future of the sector.
Our mission is to deepen understanding and promote the application of socially just and equitable practices in Higher Education. We also lead research at the cutting edge of digital learning, helping to reimagine the possibilities of teaching and learning in a rapidly evolving academic landscape.
