Congratulations to UniSA's Dr Jim O'Hehir who was recognised as the 2023 Timber Legend at the 4th Green Triangle Timber Awards Gala Dinner on 27 October. Dr O'Hehir was presented this award by Premier Peter Malinauskas in front of an audience of 500 at The Barn, Mount Gambier.
Dr. O’Hehir’s exceptional dedication to the forestry sector, his relentless commitment to the delivery of ground-breaking research projects, and his efforts in implementing technology advancements throughout the region earned him this honour. Jim’s passion for forestry and his tireless efforts in mentoring the next generation of industry leaders has left an indelible mark on the sector, making him a deserving recipient of the Timber Legend Award.
Green Triangle Timber Industry Awards
Jim has been the General Manager of Forest Research Mount Gambier since it's inception in 2018 having previously worked for many years at ForestrySA.
This award covers a wide and varied breadth of the timber industry, and recognises outstanding individuals who have carved out extraordinary careers that have benefitted our region, community and industry in its entirety.
