About this project
Are you interested in exploring the role of technology to enhance children’s play experiences in playgrounds?

This Masters project will explore currently available digital technologies to enhance children’s playgrounds, along with the views of key stakeholders about a possible role for such technologies. This project will work across disciplines and has the potential to ‘push the boundaries’ of traditional approaches to playground design for children.

What you’ll do

The candidate will learn skills in conducting a scoping review, including constructing a search strategy, data base and grey literature searching and summarising results. The candidate will engage with a wide range of stakeholders with an interest in children’s playgrounds. The candidate will learn about focus groups and analysing qualitative data. There may be opportunities to travel and present their research at local or national conferences.

Where you’ll be based

The candidate will be part of the IIMPACT in Health Research concentration and will also have access to support, networking and events both within IIMPACT, the Allied Health and Human Performance Academic Unit and the ARENA Research Centre. The candidate will be based at the University of South Australia’s City East campus where they will be co-located with other Masters and PhD students in a supportive and vibrant research culture that promotes open communication, collaboration and work-life balance.
