ACCP's Deputy Director Research, Associate Professor Melissa O'Donnell was the guest speaker at the HDA Women's Excellence in Research Award presentation, on Wednesday 3 May in Adelaide.
Melissa presented her winning research on Preventing and responding to child abuse and neglect: evidence for targeted support.
Melissa presented her research on children who have experienced abuse and neglect and their families, many of whom have multiple and complex needs and how a public health approach to child abuse and neglect has enabled the utilisation of data to identify areas of prevention and targeted support for families and children. Melissa’s research is directly informing perinatal processes for mothers and supporting young people transitioning from care.
