On Friday 12 September 2025 at UniSA's Pridham Hall, the ACCP are hosting a 90-minute symposium Protecting Children: The Need for ChangeThis is a special opportunity to hear from three of the 2025 Australians of the Year for South Australia, who will be sharing their insights during National Child Protection Week.

  • Professor Leah Bromfield - 2025 Australian of the Year for South Australia will share research and data demonstrating the need for transformative change and opportunities for action
  • Charlie Jackson OAM - 2025 Senior Australian of the Year for South Australia, an Adnyamathanha man from the Flinders Ranges will consider the perspective of First Nations children and families
  • Amber Brock-Fabel - 2025 Young Australian of the Year for South Australia will host a panel of young people to share their experiences and perspectives in SA on children's safety
  • Facilitated discussion with NAPCAN Board President Lesley Taylor, and opportunity for Q&A.

Doors open for tea and coffee at 9am and please join us for morning tea after the symposium.
