On-campus, industry standard 737 simulatorThe University continues to work proudly with flying partner, Flight Training Adelaide (FTA), in delivering our aviation programs. FTA is a world-renowned flying school that trains pilots for Cathay Pacific, Cathay Dragon, China Airlines, Virgin Australia, QantasLink and Indigo.

Our Bachelor of Aviation (Flight) program provides students a strong first step to their career as a pilot. Our degree includes:

  • 15-20 hours of flying at FTA, and the chance to achieve their first solo flight
  • Flight training theory taught by FTA
  • Access to our on-campus desktop simulator lab
  • Access and simulator time in our on-campus, industry standard 737 simulator

FTA also offers students the option to progress to their Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) program concurrently during year 2 and 3 of the bachelor. Entry to this program is based on a student’s performance in the first year of their bachelor degree. Students who are not successful, but still wish to fly, may choose an alternative flight training provider. There are a range of options at Parafield Airport (next door to the campus).
