The University continues to work proudly with flying partner, Flight Training Adelaide (FTA), in delivering our aviation programs. FTA is a world-renowned flying school that trains pilots for Cathay Pacific, Cathay Dragon, China Airlines, Virgin Australia, QantasLink and Indigo.

Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) student Mytheli ParthibanOur Bachelor of Aviation (Flight) program provides students a strong first step to their career as a pilot. Our degree includes:

  • 15-20 hours of flying at FTA, and the chance to achieve their first solo flight
  • Flight training theory taught by FTA
  • Access to our on-campus desktop simulator lab
  • Access and simulator time in our on-campus, industry standard 737 simulator

FTA also offers students the option to progress to their Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) program concurrently during year 2 and 3 of the bachelor. Entry to this program is based on a student’s performance in the first year of their bachelor degree. Students who are not successful, but still wish to fly, may choose an alternative flight training provider. There are a range of options at Parafield Airport (next door to the campus).
