Almost 900 of Adelaide’s newest international students received a very special welcome from Adelaide Lord Mayor Stephen Yarwood on 27 March.

Almost 900 of Adelaide’s newest international students received a very special welcome from Adelaide Lord Mayor Stephen Yarwood on 27 March.

The students crowded into Adelaide Town Hall for the annual StudyAdelaide Lord Mayor’s Welcome Party for International Students. Addressing the packed ballroom, the Lord Mayor remarked that the students were among the largest group of international students to ever start their study journeys in Adelaide.

Lord Mayor with a group of international studentsThe Lord Mayor’s Welcome for International Students is part of StudyAdelaide’s year-long calendar of free and discounted events and activities especially for international students. These include free tickets to football matches and arts performances, discounted tours to South Australian highlights such as Kangaroo Island and employment seminars.

StudyAdelaide also provides every international student with a free welcome backpack which includes a guide containing everything a new student needs to know about Adelaide.
