WOMADelaide is a four-day festival of Music, Arts and Dance celebrating cultural and creative diversity held since 1992 in Adelaide’s beautiful Botanic Park. The festival has become a truly unique part of the Australian festival landscape, showcasing the best, the essential – and the surprising – in global music, dance, art and ideas.
WOMADelaide offers a rich variety of programming initiatives, including the popular Planet Talks discussion forum. In 2020, The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre is proud to co-present two of the festival's talks. Join us at WOMADelaide for this significant International Women’s Day event featuring four of Australia’s best journalists and special guests.
The International Women's Day Talks will be presented as part of WOMADelaide.
Walkley Award-nominated journalist and TV presenter Jan Fran is best known for her work as host of The Feed and on Medicine or Myth on SBS, The Project on Network Ten, and podcasts Sexism and the City and The Few Who Do. A frequent commentator on Q&A, ABC Breakfast, The Drum and Triple J’s Hack, Jan is an ambassador for Plan International Australia where she advocates on women’s issues.
The Advertiser State Editor and senior columnist Tory Shepherd is the author of On Freedom, a Churchill fellow, a Walkley judge – and once wrote a thesis on UFO cults.
