Early childhood education in South Australia has a remarkable history closely tied to the women who understood and fought for the right of children to have an education. This exhibition explores the history of the Kindergarten Union of South Australia (KUSA) and the effect of teacher education, early childhood development, leadership, qualifications, women's work and reconciliation and truth-telling on early childhood education in South Australia. Presented by the The Centre for Research in Educational and Social Inclusion with The University of South Australia Library at Kerry Packer Civic Gallery, Hawke Building, City West.

Continuing to build on over a decade of projects for a diversity of clients, this exhibition will showcase a range of design catalysts that respond to the central theme of Co-Creating Community Connections. The exhibition, in the Kerry Packer Civic Gallery, brings together a collection of projects that question, investigate, and respond to what it means to be meaningfully connected, and consider how these connections can take various forms across physical spaces and sociotechnical networks, to impact on individual and communal wellbeing. The 4th National Indigenous Art Triennial: Ceremony curated by Hetti Perkins, Arrernte and Kalkadoon peoples, is the National Gallery of Australia’s flagship exhibition of contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art. For the 2023 Adelaide Film Festival and Tarnanthi, the Samstag Museum of Art presents a selection of moving image works of art by Hayley Millar Baker, Joel Bray and Gutiŋarra Yunupiŋu, revealing how ceremony is at the nexus of Country, culture and Community.

UniSA Research Fellow and award-winning children’s and young adult fiction author Dr Jared Thomas has been named the South Australian NAIDOC Person of the Year 2023. Dr Thomas has produced international award-winning and young adult fiction titles.
