Are you thinking of an internship either domestically or overseas? The Hawke Professional Experience (POLI 3013) offered by UniSA can embed that into your study program so you can make a positive difference not only to your life and career prospects, but to the lives of others, while also earning credit toward your degree.
The Hawke Professional Experience is a 9 unit internship course which enables our students to gain domestic or overseas workplace experience. Students choose their own placement or when available, participate in programs designed by UniSA. As a 9 unit course, this program includes a domestic or international internship/professional practice component, as well as academic and skill-based learning outcomes. Students will consider their chosen placement opportunity, undertake the placement and then reflect on their achievements, specifically how the placement adds value to their career trajectory. Students' performance during the placement, feedback from the workplace mentor, the quality of their reflections and the educational and skill-based outcomes they gain from the course will all be considered during grading.
Assessment for this program includes a research project. This is to be individually designed by the student, can take a multitude of forms (for example, a research essay, portfolio or documentary) and aims to contribute to your main areas of study. More details about the assignments can be found on the course page.
