A three-day culinary delight bringing together some of Adelaide’s best Asian
restaurants 4-6 October 2014, AirAsia ASIAFEST will become your boarding
pass to immerse yourself amongst the vibrant Asian culture. Nestled in Rymill Park, this visually indulgent open-air marketplace provides the pathway to take visitors on a cultural journey emulating the experience as though they were visiting each country itself.

With several mini Festivals within the one festival, AirAsia ASIAFEST will be shining the
spotlight on China, Japan, Thailand, Korea and Vietnam.

“We want to educate Australians about the diversity of the Asian Culture and how different
each of them can be,” says AirAsia ASIAFEST Event Manager – Adriana Michael.
Featuring a unique entertainment line-up including traditional drumming, dancing, food, art,
massage and various martial arts, AirAsia ASIAFEST is also bringing the art of Japanese
Sumo Wrestling direct from Japan with Japanese Sumo Mania – a first for Adelaide!

“It is extremely rare for these wrestlers to venture to a foreign country with their traditional
art form, and we have the pleasure of hosting these prestigious athletes right here in
Adelaide,” says Adriana Michael “Visitors will be able to witness an Adelaide first Sumo Tournament taking place in the custom built Isuzu Arena held here in Rymill Park.”

The clever team behind the Royal Croquet Club and Little Miss Mexico are putting together
a truly unique festival bar over the three days within The Melting Pot called ‘Miss Lee’s
Laundry & Bar.’ Visitors will be taken into the back street alleyways of Hong Kong
surrounded by a fusion of street style eateries and entertainment in an intricately decorated
setting.

AirAsia ASIAFEST aims to continue to unveil South Australia as a vibrant city and a
destination for unique food, culture and entertainment.
