Sanaa Exhibition returns to The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre’s Kerry Packer Civic Gallery with another eclectic and vibrant exhibition, co-presented with Sanaa: A Better World Through Creativity. This exhibition aims to facilitate intercultural understanding by providing a platform to artists from culturally diverse backgrounds, and will feature an exciting mix of globally recognised names from Uganda, Nigeria, South Africa and Kenya alongside locally based emerging artists.

Two exhibitions for the Adelaide Festival that bring together the evocative work of Samstag scholar James Newitt, with leading international moving image artist Emily Wardill, will now be presented at North Eastern Concourse, Adelaide Railway Station.

Thursday 9 March >> Can Seaweed Save the World?

Presented by The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre, in arrangement with WOMADelaide Festival's Planet Talks Program. Professor Chris Daniels, Professor of Biology at the University of South Australia will be in-conversation with entrepreneur Steve Meller and Associate Professor Catriona MacLeod, Head of the Ecology and Biodiversity Centre within Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies, University of Tasmania. They will discuss the multiple new applications and industries around seaweed in Australia, seaweed remediation and cultivation, reducing methane emissions and what are the roadblocks across policy and skill set.

Join The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre for a screening of the poignant and touching documentary, Batoor: A Refugee Journey by Walkley Award winning photojournalist, Barat Ali Batoor. Batoor: A Refugee Journey follows Batoor’s path from Afghanistan through to Australia in search of safety and sanctuary. Following the screening will be a panel discussion with Barat Ali Batoor, Associate Professor Mary Anne Kenny (Murdoch University and University of South Australia) and Professor Nicholas Procter (University of South Australia).
