Annika Bowker moved to the Big Apple to work for a slew of award-winning design and architecture firms before she realised her heart lay in her art practice, and followed this desire creating beautiful intricate weaving pieces, straddling art, design, landscape and performance. Her Honours thesis, for which she received a high distinction, studied the intersection between art and architecture and was an important entry point into this cross-disciplinary work. UniSA Launches Guide to Foster Respectful Engagement with Aboriginal Peoples
The UniSA community now has access to a valuable resource on how to work, engage and partner respectfully with Aboriginal Peoples with the release of Yurirka: Proppa Engagement with Aboriginal Peoples. Yurirka, which means to be attentive or obedient in Kaurna language, is a guide designed to give the UniSA community a strong grasp of the ‘proppa’ protocols of engagement with Aboriginal Peoples. In this video, Purkarninthi in Residence (UniSA's Elders in Residence) share their reflections on the resource and its contributions to respectful engagement and reconciliation.
