Student counselling
The University of South Australia provides free and confidential counselling to enrolled students in relation to personal, relationship, family or study difficulties that may affect student success.
Our counsellors are highly trained and experienced professionals, dedicated to supporting all students to achieve academic success as well as a positive university experience.
Students may find counselling helpful with a wide range of academic or personal issues including;
- Adjusting to change (e.g. new culture, university, city, academic expectations)
- Managing study stress
- Exam anxiety
- Procrastination or perfectionism
- Motivation problems
- Managing a personal or family crisis
- Grief and loss
- Depression
- Friendships
- Decision making
Counsellors are available to see students for individual appointments. They also facilitate a range of student workshops designed to support successful student transition to university and wellbeing including a range of online resources for students.
If you would like to see how the Counselling Service engages with current students, you can go to the Counselling Services website which can be accessed via the Student Portal.
