About this scholarship

The BPW Adelaide Heather Southcott Memorial Grant supports a female honours student or research degree student in UniSA Clinical & Health Sciences who demonstrates leadership within the industry.

The Federation of Business and Professional Women (BPW) aims to unite business, professional and other working women internationally to support their development as professionals and leaders. BPW Adelaide established this grant to honour Heather Southcott, a remarkable South Australian woman and outstanding
role model.

Heather Southcott AM was an active member of BPW Adelaide and a founding member of the Women’s Pharmacist Group. She was a community leader who became the first woman to lead a parliamentary party in South Australia.

Eligibility

- Female.
- Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident.
- Honours student or research degree student in UniSA Clinical & Health Sciences.
- Full-time.
- Curriculum Vitae.
- Written statement.

Shortlisted applicants may be asked to attend a selection panel interview.

The grant funds should be utilised within 12 months of payment. If it is not expected that funds will be used within the timeframe‚ the reasons must be outlined in the written statement.

The grant will be awarded on the basis of academic achievement, demonstrated leadership and written statement.

Students may not be in receipt of a similar grant or scholarship administered by UniSA.

Applications are accessed through myScholarships (via logging on to the myUniSA student portal).

In addition to applying online, applicants are required to provide a Curriculum Vitae and a written statement as outlined below, to research.students@unisa.edu.au.

Applicants must provide:
   - A Curriculum Vitae.
   - A written statement (maximum 500 words) detailing:
                                                  1. Academic achievements.
                                                  2. Reasons for undertaking a UniSA Clinical & Health Sciences program.
                                                  3. Demonstrated leadership in the pharmacy and medical sciences industry.
                                                  4. The importance of the research and potential impact.
