Podiatry clinic

Providing assessment and treatment services for adults and children.

Based at UniSA’s City East, City West, and Magill campuses, and Elizabeth Health Clinic, podiatry services are provided by undergraduate podiatry students, under the supervision of registered practicing podiatrists.

Clinical services include foot and lower limb assessment and treatment, biomechanics, sports injury, nail surgery and paediatrics (children).

Appointments are essential (a medical practitioner referral isn’t required to access our services).

    We provide a range of clinical services including:

    • foot and lower limb assessment
    • treatment of lesions of the skin and nails, including corns, callus, and nail problems
    • treatment of infections (e.g. plantar warts)
    • nail surgery
    • foot care and footwear education
    • biomechanical assessment
    • custom orthoses and prefabricated insoles

    The UniSA Podiatry Clinic understands children have their own unique development concerns. Lower limb assessment may assist in early identification, particularly if your child is experiencing pain and activity limitations, or if you have a family history of foot and leg problems. Located across our clinics, we are able to assist with concerns including flat feet, ‘pigeon toed’ walking, Metatarsus adductus, foot orthoses, warts, pains, bow legs and ingrown toenails.

    Registered Podiatrist Services

    The City West Health and Medical Clinic offer Podiatry services by a fully-qualified Podiatrist, specialising in paediatric podiatry. Our services are flexible and family-centred and may be funded through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Rebates are also available via Medicare with a health plan referral, as well as private health cover.     Assessment and treatment of lesions of the skin and nails (e.g. corns, callus), treatment of foot infections (e.g. plantar warts, ingrown toenails), and foot care and footwear education.
    Custom orthoses $170
    Our custom orthoses are designed to support, align and improve the function of your feet and lower limbs. This service includes casting, one pair of custom orthoses, standard covers, dispensing, and a follow-up appointment.
    Prefabricated insoles   Price varies
    Prefabricated insole prices vary and depend on the type and brand required.

    Nail surgery

    We assess and treat nail problems and infections, including the removal of ingrown toenails

    Paediatrics

    We provide foot and lower limb assessment, as well as foot care and footwear education, for children 14 years and under. Please contact the clinic for fee information.

     

    Why do we charge service fees?

    As a direct teaching clinic, we are not funded for all of our materials or equipment. Fees are levied to help cover these costs for ongoing use and maintenance.

  • Telehealth services minus-thick plus-thick

    Telehealth is the use of telecommunications technology such as videoconferencing, telephone consultation and/or email to deliver long distance clinical services to client. Telehealth provides a solution that allows for clients and families to still have access to allied health support without having to attend in-person.

Parking
The UniSA Health Clinic has a designated parking zone with free parking available to patients in the carpark located north of the clinic entrance and through the boom gates. A code is required to exit the carpark which can be obtained from our reception staff.
