  • Aboriginal Enterprise Fellows minus-thick plus-thick

    Enterprise Fellows will have a strong research focus and will lead and deliver high quality research outcomes that translate to impact for our partners and benefits for Aboriginal Peoples and their communities. They will be active members of our Academic Units, research centres or institutes and contribute to an exceptional student experience by linking their research to course delivery.  

    The Aboriginal Research Strategy is one of the cornerstone commitments within UniSA’s Reconciliation Action Plan, and meets a commitment set by Universities Australia that every university in Australia have implemented an ARS. Our ARS is shaped by engagement with Aboriginal Elders and community representatives from across South Australia and UniSA staff. The strategy is designed to strengthen Aboriginal Research and guide our engagement with Aboriginal Peoples in a way that is ‘proppa’ and ethical.  

    With a focus on working across multi-disciplinary teams, Enterprise Fellows will contribute to the following research priorities as outlined in the Aboriginal Research Strategy:

    • Wellbeing and mental health
    • Food systems and security
    • Ageing, housing and education
    • Preservation and curation of Aboriginal Cultures, Languages and Knowledge. 

    The workload allocations for these positions will be negotiated on an individual basis. It is intended that these positions will be Research Academic positions with a teaching allocation initially and, over time, will transition to a balanced Teaching and Research workload.

    Depending on their research area/s of interest, Enterprise Fellows may be based at any of our four metropolitan or two regional campuses. These include two CBD-based campuses, as well as Magill campus in the inner-East of Adelaide, and Mawson Lakes campus in the inner-North of Adelaide, all located on Kaurna land. Regional campuses include Mt Gambier located on Boandik land and Whyalla located on Barngarla land.

    • history of law, and contemporary legal issues as they relate to Aboriginal peoples (Law qualification required)
    • international perspectives in relation to Aboriginal peoples and the law (Law qualification required)
    • recovery and revival of Aboriginal knowledges or languages
    • decolonisation of higher education curriculum, the professions and/or the academy
    • establishing ethical collaborative partnerships and methodologies between Aboriginal peoples, non-Aboriginal people, the community, and industry partners.

    UniSA Justice & Society is primarily based at our City West campus in the Adelaide CBD, and Magill campus in the foothills of Adelaide’s eastern suburbs, both located on Kaurna land.

  • Enterprise Fellows in Environmental Science/Civil Engineering minus-thick plus-thick

    UniSA is looking for Enterprise Fellows in environmental science, with expertise in one or more of the following focus areas:   

    • molecular microbial ecology  
    • bioinformatics specialising in metagenomics  
    • analytical organic chemistry, specialising in environmental matrices  
    • environmental chemistry, specialising in pollution monitoring, modelling and/or remediation  
    • environmental science teaching and research is undertaken in UniSA STEM.

    Working with colleagues from different disciplinary backgrounds, environmental science researchers contribute to the Future Industries Institute, the Sustainable Infrastructure and Resource Management research concentration, and the Cooperative Research Centre for Solving Antimicrobial Resistance in Agribusiness, Food, and Environments (CRC SAAFE).  

    The Enterprise Fellows will be strong leaders in their field, bringing expertise and the ability to build strong research concentrations, while collaborating with other areas to bring value to the University. They will have a strong interdisciplinary research track record and the ability to impart their knowledge to students.

    UniSA is looking for an Enterprise Fellow in Structural Engineering/Construction Materials, with expertise in one or more of the following focus areas:

    • structural applications with novel materials
    • sustainable construction materials
    • sustainable concrete materials
    • infrastructure resilience
    • advanced composite structures.

    Structural Engineering/Construction Materials teaching and research is undertaken in UniSA STEM.
