Robotics success

Robotic entries in the National Instruments Autonomous Robotics CompetitionRecently returning from the Warman Design and Build Competition national final in Sydney, the University of South Australia’s team designed and built a competitive vehicle to perform a set task. UniSA’s team, made up of mechanical and mechatronic engineering students, was successful in securing fifth position among 15 teams from universities across Australia and New Zealand.

Watch our Warman Design and Build Competition video here.

University of South Australia students also competed in the National Instruments Autonomous Robotics Competition where 32 teams from 28 Australian universities competed. The challenge was to build a robot that could be autonomously loaded with six ‘seeds’ at a specific location, navigate obstacles and then plant these seeds in a specific zone in a separate location. Our students made it through five rounds of competition into the quarter finals before being eliminated.

Congratulations to our engineering students!
