Recognising the past through nature, art and song
Once home to children of the Stolen Generation, today Colebrook is “a place of healing and learning”, the story of which is told in a film which was shown at the 2022 Cannes Short Film Festival. The film is an initiative of the Blackwood Reconciliation Group which began as a study group in the 1990s and today works with past residents of Colebrook Home to inform the next generation. more...

Join The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre for an in-conversation with Kurdish-Iranian writer, journalist, scholar, cultural advocate, filmmaker, and former Manus Island detainee, Behrouz Boochani, who will discuss his second book, Freedom, Only Freedom: The Prison Writings of Behrouz Boochani. In his first and only Adelaide event, Behrouz Boochani will be in conversation with award-winning journalist Professor Peter Greste, with an introductory presentation delivered by Freedom, Only Freedom editor and long-term translator/collaborator Dr Omid Tofighian.

Thursday 9 March >> Can Seaweed Save the World?
Presented by The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre, in arrangement with WOMADelaide Festival's Planet Talks Program. Professor Chris Daniels, Professor of Biology at the University of South Australia will be in-conversation with entrepreneur Steve Meller and Associate Professor Catriona MacLeod, Head of the Ecology and Biodiversity Centre within Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies, University of Tasmania. They will discuss the multiple new applications and industries around seaweed in Australia, seaweed remediation and cultivation, reducing methane emissions and what are the roadblocks across policy and skill set.
