UK Alumni Cocktail event, 24 May 2018
Alumni and friends gathered at the Royal Institution of Great Britain for the annual University of South Australia alumni reunion event on 24 May. The University honoured one of its Chapter leaders, Dennis Muirhead FRSA, with a Vice Chancellor’s International Alumni Leadership Award. This award recognises the leadership qualities of graduates and supporters of the university. Dennis was Chair of the Chapter from 2007 until 2011 and was its Honorary President and Trustee until early 2018.
The University has also honoured former Vice-Chair of the Chapter and longstanding committee member, Elsa D’Ercoli, who has an MBA from UniSA. Ms D’Ercoli will receive her Vice Chancellor’s International Alumni Leadership Award in Adelaide later this year.
UniSA UK Alumni Christmas, 2017
The South Australian Universities Alumni Europe Chapter celebrated their annual Christmas party in London earlier this week.Over 100 guests enjoyed nostalgic South Australian treats: Coopers beer, South Australian wines, Haigh's Chocolates, FruChocs and BBQ Shapes while catching up with former classmates.

What's it like to work in space? UK Alumni seminar, 17 July 2017
Should Australia have a space agency? How do we keep people healthy when travelling in space? Will we ever send someone to Mars? These were some of the provoking questions our speakers - Andrea Tom and Emile - tackled at our event on Monday night. It was great to see so many South Australian alumni at the Menzies Centre for Australian Studies for this insightful evening.

UniSA UK Alumni Cocktail Reception, 9 May 2017
More than 100 guests attended the University's cocktail event for UniSA alumni in London hosted by Professor David Lloyd, Vice Chancellor and President of the University of South Australia, and High Commissioner of Australia, His Excellency The Hon Alexander Downer AC DUniv.
The Vice Chancellor announced an exciting partnership with the University of South Australia and University College London. Guests were able to witness the signing of the agreement. Santos is also involved, providing $2 million to fund new research fellowships at UniSA’s Future Industries Institute, targeting women to fill the places.
The fellowships will see researchers in key areas for future industries development – minerals and resources engineering; energy and advanced manufacturing; environmental science and engineering; and biomaterials engineering and nanomedicine – supported to undertake research that will further industry innovation and creation in SA.
Among the alumni guests were James Drake QC, Professor Gerald Goodhart DUniv, Barry Humphries AO, CBE DUniv, Colin Smythe, Rachael Meyers and Christopher Tibilcock. The Hon Mike Rann CNZM DUniv AC , High Commissioner of Australia and His Excellency The Hon Alexander Downer AC DUniv were also in attendance as patrons of the South Australian Universities Alumni Europe, the alumni network that shares affiliations with all of the South Australian Universities. South Australian Universities Alumni Europe, Dennis Muirhead FRSA, was joined by fellow committee members, Josh Rule (President), Randolph Brazier (Treasurer) and Alastair Fischer.

Alumni Cocktail event to celebrate UniSA’s 25th Birthday in London, 13 April 2016
More than 55 UniSA alumni celebrated the University’s 25th Birthday cocktail event in London hosted by Vice Chancellor and President, Professor David Lloyd, and High Commissioner of Australia, His Excellency The Hon Alexander Downer AC DUniv.
Among the alumni guests were Andrew Grill, Global Managing Partner, Social Consulting at IBM (Masters of Engineering - Information Technology & Telecommunication, 1996), Jessica Perrin, Head of Global Programmes at Thomson Reuters Foundation (Bachelor of Arts - Communication, Media & Culture, 2006), and Daniel Rossetto, Managing Director of Climate Mundial Limited (Bachelor of Building with Honours, 1997).
The Hon Alexander Downer AC DUniv, is patron of the South Australian Universities Alumni Europe, the alumni network that shares affiliations with all of the South Australian Universities. South Australian Universities Alumni Europe Honorary President, Dennis Muirhead FRSA, was joined by fellow committee members, Dr Ann Davis, Dr Jo Nield, Dave Stott and Kyla Raby (Bachelor of Journalism, 2010).

UniSA UK Alumni cocktail reception, 27 April 2015
About 50 guests attended the South Australian Universities Alumni Europe cocktail event for UniSA alumni hosted by Professor David Lloyd, Vice Chancellor and President of the University of South Australia, at the Royal Institute of Great Britain on 27 April 2015.
Professor Lloyd highlighted some recent achievements of UniSA and announced the research partnership with University College London.
Dignitaries present at the event included the Rt Hon Sir Lockwood Smith, High Commissioner for New Zealand, Bill Muirhead AM, Agent General for South Australia and Dick Porter Chairman of Australian Business.

UK-Europe Alumni 2014 Christmas Party
Some 156 guests attended the South Australian Universities Alumni Europe 2014 Christmas Party at Australia House on 20 November.
The event, hosted by alumni President Dennis Muirhead, was a fun networking event for alumni from the University of South Australia, Flinders University and the University of Adelaide.

High Commissioner hosts alumni cocktail event at Australia House, London
More than 90 University of South Australia alumni and guests joined a London reception hosted by His Excellency Alexander Downer AC DUniv, High Commissioner for Australia, with Professor David Lloyd, Vice Chancellor and President, University of South Australia, Nigel Relph, Deputy Vice Chancellor and Vice President: International and Advancement, University of South Australia and Dennis Muirhead, President and Committee of the South Australian Universities Alumni Europe.
The event was attended by Meredith Hooper, the 2014 Australian of the Year in the UK, Dick Porter, Chairman of Australian Business, and Patricia Rochford, Director of Rochford International. Among the UniSA Alumni attending were Jana Blagojevic, Chief Operating Officer of Barclays, Alison Dodd, Managing Director of Mooreplay Ltd, and well known artist Dr Bronwyn Platten.

Premier's Reception at Australia House 9 May 2012
The Office of the Agent General, UK and Europe held a reception for The Hon Jay Weatherill MP, Premier of South Australia, on 9 May 2012 at Australia House. The Premier shared South Australian hospitality with South Australians living in the UK/Europe and gave an update on exciting progress in the State.
