'Implementing Trauma Informed Pedagogy through Student Centred Practice in Schools'

Associate Professors Elspeth McInnes and Victoria Whitington will introduce the session with a briefing on their work researching strategies to develop cultures of wellbeing in primary schools and the evidence on key factors influencing success.

They will be followed by school leaders from the primary and secondary school sectors who have pursued a focus on trauma informed pedagogy, practice and learning design in the schools they lead

Dave Pascoe will focus on Elizabeth Vale Primary School’s fundamentals of Trauma Informed Practice in Primary schools and the importance of a whole school approach.

Maria La Pietra will focus on how a whole school can embed a youth centered approach to building trauma informed relationships that promote wellbeing and learning.

The session will conclude with audience questions and panel discussion.
