Following a brief stint as a ministerial adviser during the Bannon Government, John Hill became an ALP party official and then State Secretary in 1994. John also chairs the University of South Australia’s Sci/C/Ed Start-up Program Steering Committee and was appointed as a member of the University Council - the University’s principal governing body.
Since Labor’s win in the 2002 South Australian election, he has presided over portfolios such as Minister for Environment and Conservation, Minister for the River Murray, Minister for the Southern Suburbs, Minister Assisting the Premier in the Arts and Minister for Gambling.
