The Mechatronic Engineering & Robotics Club

University of South Australia's Mechatronic Engineering & Robotics Club (MERC)Introduction

The Mechatronic Engineering & Robotics Club (MERC) was formed to foster the creative potential of students by providing the resources that will allow them to design and build their own projects as well as projects presented to the club through UniSA and industry.

  • To increase knowledge and creative ability of its members.

  • To promote student growth through individual achievement and group competition.

  • To build a group dynamic promoting supportive environment and fostering leaders amongst its members.

  • To provide members industry exposure through local and national contests.

We also play with robots, have chocolate machines and a smallish firetruck.

Before joining MERC we require that members have completed at least one study period of their degree. This allows the members to first settle into the university routine and become familiar with the workload.

MERC members meetings occur on a monthly basis in the club room.
