Hong Kong Alumni Reunion – November 2017
The alumni reunion dinner in Hong Kong was held on November 4th 2017. This year the dinner celebrated the 20th Anniversary of the Hong Kong Chapter, the announcement of the inaugural Vice Chancellor International Alumni Leadership Award for Hong Kong and the acknowledgement of the past Presidents of the Chapter. The “sold out” dinner was attended by 126 alumni, the Vice Chancellor and Chancellor, special guests and UniSA senior staff. Special guests included, Mr Gavin Ku Consul (Political-Economic) Australian Consulte-General Hong Kong.
Vice Chancellor International Alumni Leadership Award
Dr Edward Lam, graduate of a Master of International Business Administration in 2002, Edward is the Chief Executive Officer of Delicron (HK) Limited.
Awarded in recognition of his devotion to education and support of the next generation of future leaders and his engagement with his community. Dr Lam has been involved in various voluntary activities including President of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Hong Kong, district commissioner and Assistant Leader Trainer of the Scout Association of Hong Kong, founding President of the UniSA’s Hong Kong MBA Club and Hong Kong Alumni Chapter President from 2011 through 2014. Edward is still heavily involved with the Chapter serving as the current Vice President, mentoring our business graduates and providing guidance to visiting UniSA staff.
Introduction to Coffee Class – 26 August 2017
Alumni gathered at Pokka Café in Mongkok Hong Kong to learn about coffee production, and the finer aspects of coffee preparation and tasting. The event was organised by Jet Wong, President of the UniSA Hong Kong Bachelor Club at one of the stores run by his family’s successful café empire.
UniSA Study tour - June 2017
A group of UniSA students visited HK in June. They learned about the Hong Kong capital market, Belt and Road national policy and Bay area development opportunities.
UniSA Hong Kong 25th Birthday Alumni Dinner, November 2016
Vice Chancellor and President, Professor David Lloyd, and Chancellor, Jim McDowell, together with members of senior management attended the University of South Australia's 25th Birthday dinner held in Hong Kong at the Grand Hyatt, Hong Kong Island on Saturday 5 November 2016.Among the 130 guests were Chapter president Mr Stephen Sze and the committee, together with past president Dr Lai Kwok Wai.

Hong Kong Alumni UniSA Study Tour, February 2016
A group of MBA alumni and friends from Hong Kong visited the University of South Australia on 12 and 15 February as part of a trip to South Australia led by Vice President of the Hong Kong Alumni Chapter and MBA Club President, Maggie Leung.
The group enjoyed an Adelaide-style Chinese New Year banquet at Citi Zen restaurant, attended a special lecture from the Head of the School of Management, Prof Thomas Maak, tried 3D printing at UniSA College's facility and visited the Wearbale Computer Lab at Mawson Lakes. Their afternoon with UniSA's Aviation Academy's training partner, Adelaide Flight Training Centre, gave the visitors a taste of flying in the Flight Simulator and to take the controls for a moment during a trial instructional flight in the AFTC's Tobago two seater aircraft.
2015 Hong Kong Alumni Reunion dinner
Vice Chancellor and President, Professor David Lloyd, and Chancellor, Dr Ian Gould AM were among special guests, alumni and members of senior management who attended the University of South Australia alumni reunion on Saturday 27 June at the Place Wedding Banquet Empress Plaza in Hong Kong.
Among the 160 guests were Chapter president Mr Stephen Sze and the committee together with past presidents Ms Sandy Au Yeung and Dr Lai Kwok Wai. Official guests joining the Vice Chancellor and Chancellor included representatives of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HKSAR Mr Zhang Zong Ming, Director, Department of Educational, Science and Technology Affairs and Mr Huang Yu, Deputy Researcher, Department of Educational, Science and Technology Affairs and Ms Chang Tsung Yueh, President of the UniSA Alumni Association of Taiwan.
Hong Kong cocktail function for Business alumni
Fifty University of South Australia Business alumni attended a cocktail function held at the China Club in Hong Kongon 20 October. The event was hosted by Mr Nigel Relph, Deputy Vice Chancellor and Vice President: International and Advancement, University of South Australia and Professor Marie Wilson, Pro Vice Chancellor (Business and Law): UniSA Business School.
UniSA and Hong Kong Baptist University celebrate 20 year partnership
Twenty years after first collaborating to deliver degree programs in Hong Kong, the University of South Australia marked the anniversary of its partnership with Hong Kong Baptist University by launching a suite of full time degrees.
Some 6500 graduates have completed a degree from the collaborative programs run (HKBU) and UniSA over the past 20 years. A special celebration was held at the China Club in Hong Kong on 11 July. UniSA Deputy Vice Chancellor and Vice President, Mr Nigel Relph, and HKBU President and Vice Chancellor, Professor Albert Chan hosted the event.
To mark the 20-year anniversary UniSA and HKBU are jointly funding 20 scholarships, each worth (HK$10,000), for Hong Kong Baptist University Associate Degree students with the highest CGPA applying for admission to the UniSA programs.
Hong Kong Alumni Reunion
Chancellor, Dr Ian Gould AM, and Deputy Vice Chancellor and Vice President, Nigel Relph were among hundreds of special guests, alumni and staff members who attended the University of South Australia alumni reunion in Hong Kongheld on Saturday 12 July at Club One in Kowloon.
Official guests included Ir Dr Hon Lo Wai-Kwok BBS MH JP, Member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong for Engineering Constituency, and Mr Bradley Peppinck who represented the Australian Consul-General for Hong Kong and Macau. A group of UniSA Commerce students on a study tour to Hong Kong joined the dinner and were able to benefit from a great networking opportunity.

HK Alumni Chapter visits Ebenezer School & Home for the Visually Impaired
Members of the University of South Australia Hong Kong Alumni Chapter visited the Ebenezer School & Home for the Visually Impaired on March 22.
Eighteen volunteers came along with gifts from various sponsors, including gifts donated by Hong Kong Alumni Chapter President Dr Edward Lam. Time was spent performing for the residents, talking and playing games.
Entrepreneurship Panel Discussion
Around 80 alumni and guests attended the Entrepreneurship Panel Discussion, co-organised by the Hong Kong Alumni Chapters of the University of South Australia and QUT, which was held on 24 February 2014.
This event was a follow-up to the successful Entrepreneurship and Business Management Seminar held in November 2013.
Three panel speakers with hands-on experience in new business ventures, including University of South Australia MBA Alumnus Rick Woo, shared their valuable experience with business start-ups from various industries and the challenges involved. Participants enjoyed the knowledge sharing and networking opportunities that followed.
Entrepreneurship and Business Management Seminar
More than 100 alumni attended an Entrepreneurship and Business Management Seminar organized by the Hong Kong Alumni Chapters of the University of South Australia and QUT on Tuesday, 19 November 2013. The event explored how to be a successful entrepreneur, with a lively discussion led by Dr Peter Liu, Vice Dean of Peter F Drucker Academy and Mr Eric Tang, Product Director of Four Directions Limited.

2012 Hong Kong Alumni Reunion Dinner
More than 140 alumni and guests attended the annual reunion of the University of South Australia Hong Kong Alumni Chapter on Saturday, 7 July, which was held at the Regal Kowloon Hotel, Hong Kong.
The event was hosted by University of South Australia Chancellor, Dr Ian Gould AM and Vice Chancellor and President, Professor Peter Høj, with additional senior University staff in attendance.
Professor Høj said the presentation of awards and alumni reunions are important events and allow the University to celebrate our graduates' success with them.
"It is also extremely rewarding to meet with our alumni and hear of their professional journeys and achievements and experiences".
