Research

We are committed to excellence in improving the health and wellbeing of communities throughout rural South Australia. The University of South Australia Department of Rural Health has embarked on an ambitious research program that aims to influence health practice and policy and to stimulate further research in the sector.

Our research projects and activities focus on:

  • Rural health workforce development
  • Rural training strategies
  • Innovative rural service delivery models to enable the provision of health services to meet community needs
  • Improving the health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • Supporting rural research opportunities in accordance with curriculum requirements
  • Collecting and maintaining data on workforce outcomes resulting from activity through the Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training Program

We engage with a variety of stakeholders, including policy decision-makers, managers, practitioners, health consumers, care-givers and other researchers.
