Our Selection Process

At UniSA we recruit the highest quality of staff whose skills and attributes best fit the University’s vision, goals and strategic objectives. We understand that applying for a new job can be daunting, so we've put together some information to help so that you know what to expect from us and what we'll expect from you. Generally, the number of stages in a selection process will be dependent upon the nature of the position. During the process we'll aim to keep you up to date on how your application is progressing. The University uses a variety of methods to assist in hiring top performers. Some selection tools include:

Recruitment Process

Application

All applications must be submitted through our Working at UniSA opportunities website. Your email address is your Login ID and also our primary method of contact with you so please check your emails regularly. Ensure that this is correct, current, reliable and accessible.

Timeframe

The time frame for the recruitment process will vary and we will keep you informed about your progress or of any delays as much as possible. Whether you are successful or not, we will be sure to notify you as soon as that information becomes available to us.

Process

The process varies depending on the role however it all follows a similar format. Your application will be reviewed against the skills and attributes required of the role. If you are successfully shortlisted, we will contact you to set up a time for the next stage in the process.

Job alert

New jobs are posted almost daily. Setting up a Job Alert on our Working at UniSA opportunities website will ensure you receive an email alerting you to vacancies that contain specific keywords you have selected to customise your search e.g. location, finance, administration etc. You can choose to receive the email daily, weekly or monthly. Once you have registered, you can login to My Job Alert through your candidate portal and change or remove any previously created alerts. You can also see any jobs for which you applied for in the candidate portal.

Job listing

Before you apply, consider how well your skills, experience and qualifications match the Position Description to ensure a greater chance of success. The closing date is posted on the Job List, and if you have started an application, you will receive an email reminder 3 days before the closing date. Generally jobs remain open for applications between one to three weeks, but it depends on the role. If a job is not visible on the website, it is past the closing date for applications.
