Conditions

Students are responsible for identifying the destination for their internship (state, national or international) , including the overseas location and the NGO/industry for which they will volunteer. When deciding on the best location, students are encouraged to discuss their choice with their Course Coordinator prior to enrolment in the course.

Final approval for all destinations will be given by the Course Coordinator in conjunction with the Program Director.

Students intending to undertake an international placement must be aware that all overseas placements are subject to travel advisories issued by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).

  • Students may undertake placements in any country which is rated 1 (exercise normal safety precautions) or 2 (exercise a high degree of caution) by DFAT's Smart Traveller website.
  • Students may not travel to countries where the travel advice is 3 (reconsider your need to travel) or 4 (do not travel).
  • For more details about DFAT advice, visit the Smart Traveller resources website.
