Common First Year
UniSA has introduced a first year program of eight new core courses,
common to all of our undergraduate IT degrees, to provide a
practice-centred foundation to IT.
Once you have completed first year, you will have a solid understanding of IT’s diversity and will be in a more knowledgeable position to specialise in your preferred IT field.
Although you will commence in your nominated specialisation at the beginning of first year, an option to transfer to a different specialisation, without additional time or cost, is available up until the end of first year.
The important advantage of the common year is that you’ll gain invaluable soft skills that are in high demand in the IT profession; skills that will be nurtured over the duration of your program through the various courses and final year project.
You couldn’t be more work ready than that with a UniSA IT degree!
