Campus tours

Explore Mawson Lakes campus with a friendly tour guide and view the facilities available to students including the $88m Minerals and Materials Building, Experience One Studio and Library.


Interactive Info Sessions

As the science and technology hub you will be able to engage in interactive workshops including Flight Simulators and robotics.

Throughout the event enjoy free food trucks and live entertainment.





Electrical Engineering
  4.30pm,   TBC

Experiment with aspects of electronic engineering to key in a modular electronic piano. The circuit plays a musical tone when hovered over and can be connected to additional boards to produce an entire scale of notes.

Civil Engineering "Will it Break?"
  5.30pm,   N Building Foyer

Experience our ‘controlled demolition’ site when you visit the largest concrete strong floor in Australia. The demonstration of structural destructive testing will give you insight into the hands-on practices in civil engineering.

Mechatronic Engineering
  5.30pm,   SCT1-39

See just how hard it is to control a robot remotely, learn the role of sensors and how to pick up an object using the data outputted. Play with vehicles and machines developed by our mechatronic students, for an insight into how electrical and mechanical engineering merge with computer systems in the field of robotics.

Mechanical Engineering: "Solidworks"

Using the Computer Aided Drawing (CAD) software SolidWorks, create a solid model of an object and a dimensioned engineering drawing, for a preview of the tools used by a mechanical engineer.

Information Technology, Maths and Science


Information Technology

Get a taste for the exciting world of IT through workshops where you will use developer tools to modify and personalise your own mobile game app, learn about the importance of security on today’s modern networks before you go ahead and build one.

Take a tour of the incredible research facilities at our Mawson Lakes campus, to understand how our science degrees are influenced by some of the most advanced scientific and technological thinking.

Learn about the many and varied applications of mathematics through a hands-on workshop which will demonstrate solar car racing strategies. Hear from staff and students about the different types of projects mathematics students have been involved in from solar taxis to improving train driver efficiency.

Environmental and Geospatial Science

Come and experience our brand-new Project LIVE Lab (Learning through Immersive Virtual Environments), which uses digital visualisation technologies to bring learning to life! This interactive workshop will showcase how environmental and geospatial science students use technology such as virtual reality headsets, drones, 3D photogrammetry, gigapixel panoramic images and 360 videos in their studies.

The sky is the limit with aviation at UniSA. We are South Australia’s only university to offer aviation at a tertiary level. Experience what it’s like to fly a plane with our flight simulators and chat to staff and students about your study options for becoming a pilot or entering the aviation management industry.

First Year at Uni

Unsure of what to expect for your first year at university? Come along to this session for an insight into what university is really like. All areas of university life will be explained from contact hours, lectures and tutorials, to social life, free time and other activities.

This session will also include tips and advice for parents to help support your student through this important time.
