Strategies, plans, commitments
UniSA's
strategic intent and key result areas are set out in strategic and corporate
plans. An annual review and planning process provides the foundation for
institutional development and quality
improvement.
Equity is an integral aspect of planning, quality assurance, reporting and
review processes, as well as core areas of teaching and learning, research,
consultancy and community service.
We have formalised our
Commitment to
Reconciliation with Indigenous Australians and to recognition of their
land, peoples and history.
Strategic and corporate plans
The
Strategic Plan (PDF 414kb - download
Adobe
Acrobat) communicates broad directions concisely and clearly to the
University community and stakeholders and is structured to reflect seven key
areas of activity.
The complementary
Corporate Plan (PDF 50kb - download
Adobe
Acrobat) represents the outcome of decisions about adapting the
University's activities to the current environment. It identifies priorities
for each key area, as well as for University-wide attention, sets
performance targets, and identifies core corporate projects. As such it
informs local area planning and operational plans for areas of activity.
Equity and diversity
UniSA's commitment to providing equitable access to higher education for all
sections of the Australian community is highlighted in our
Act
and our
Strategic Plan ((PDF 414kb - download
Adobe
Acrobat), which includes specific sections on Equity and Indigenous
Education.
The University is an EOWA Employer of Choice for Women and actively
encourages the participation of women in non-traditional areas of study and
employment.
UniSA offers a range of alternative pathways for students from diverse
cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, including a Foundation Studies
program and the USANET Special
Access Scheme. We also host Australia's
National
Centre for Student Equity in Higher Education.
The University is also committed to promoting equal opportunity in
employment and to conforming to the spirit and intent of equal opportunity
and anti-discrimination legislation. We have adopted an
Indigenous employment strategy (Word file) and have specific
policies
covering racism, discrimination and harassment, equal opportunity, inclusive
language and diversity representation on committees and working groups.
