Cricket Tournament Champions Thurstan CollegeThurstan College beat DS Senanayake College by two runs in a thrilling final to claim the championship crown in a six-a-side cricket tournament organized by ANC Education in collaboration with the University of South Australia and the South Australia Institute of Business Technology.

The tournament was conducted at the Colts grounds recently saw eleven schools teams participated. The schools were Royal College, D.S. Senanayake College, Zahira College, Thurstan College, St. Peter’s College, Belvoir College, Leeds International, Stafford International, Colombo International School, Wycherly International College and Gateway International.


The two action-packed days featured a series of close encounters. The first semi-final saw Thurstan College beat Wycherley International School Colombo by 85 runs while D.S. Senanayake College defeated Gateway College Colombo by 9 runs in the second semi-final.

“Driving excellence in sports education is something we have taken up as one of our core focus areas. This tournament is part of a series of events that we plan to organize around the globe to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We’ve launched a range of new scholarships in these areas and we hope to encourage young students take an interest in majoring in one of these disciplines,” commented Rishen Shekhar, Associate Director, International UniSA International, University of South Australia.
