Discovering Romania in 12 steps 

In this lecture, H.E. Ambassador Nineta Barbulescu explores the legacies of Romania – historical, political, soical, economic, cultural and considers the many links to Australia and the region. The lecture will take you on a journey from the origins of the Roman Empire, World War I & II, the 1918 Great Union, a look at the life of Queen Maria of Romania, and how the nation has been formed, through to Romania today – macroeconomics data, Internet, creativity, innovation and energetic independence. 

A provocative lecture in just “12 Steps” Ambassador Barbulescu covers the relationship between Romania and Australia in a global context and considers its many possiblities and challenges


Nineta Barbulescu

H.E. Mrs Nineta Bărbulescu was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Australia and Designated Ambassador of Romania to New Zealand in August 2013. Prior to this, the Ambassador was Director General for Export Controls at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania.
