Regional campuses

UniSA provides accessible education to students throughout South Australia. In addition to our City West and City East campuses in the heart of Adelaide, and the nearby metropolitan campuses at Mawson Lakes and Magill, we also have campuses at Whyalla and Mount Gamber.

Whyalla
The Whyalla campus, located at the hub of the state’s mining and resources industry, is South Australia’s largest regional university campus. While the majority of its students hail from the state’s western and northern regions, an increasing number of interstate and overseas students are discovering the benefits of studying in Whyalla.

The campus is situated on a 22-hectare site in the centre of Whyalla, and is the major centre of tertiary education in rural and regional South Australia as well as the home of the University of South Australia’s Centre for Regional Engagement.

It has developed programs and expertise directly relevant to rural and regional Australia, including:

  • Education
  • Nursing and rural health
  • Computer and information science
  • Social Work and rural practice
  • Community wellbeing and arid lands technology
  • Engineering

Mount Gambier
Also as part of the university of South Australia's regional engagement strategy, the Mount Gambier Regional Centre was established in 2005.

This enterprise represents an exciting initiative for the university, for Mount Gambier and the south-east community, and for regional South Australia. Its success to date has been built on extensive, ongoing community consultations and collaborative, strategic partnerships. The Mount Gambier Regional Centre is co-located with TAFE SA at Wireless Road, Mount Gambier, and offers undergraduate degree level studies in the program areas of:

  • Nursing and rural health
  • Social Work and rural practice
  • Education
  • UniSA Foundation Studies (regional strand)
